In 1997 Fredrick Guess made New Orleans his permanent home. He moved into the French Quarter and with a friend opened an antique store. In this store, he hung some of his work. Not much more than a year later, he closed the antique store completely and he and his partner relocated across the street and opened Galerie Louisiane, naming it in honor of his new home.
An instant success, the gallery was renamed the Fredrick Guess Studio. Since then, his popularity has grown with both locals and visitors.
